resilience and confidence
bouncing back and trusting yourself
In a challenging and changing environment, and with all the ambiguity of life, resilience and confidence are important and desirable characteristics, that allow us to deal with the ups and downs and respond to the inevitable challenges we face.
Yet, they seem to be subjects that people only really discuss when they think they don't have it. When we're going about what we do, doing our thing in our natural way - it doesn't occur to us that we may be being resilient or confident yet, we probably are.
So, maybe we could look at those moments when we're naturally resilient and confident and build on those positive patterns. And we can complement that by learning to stop undermining our natural confidence, purpose, flexibility and connection to others.
I currently use this popular and pragmatic approach in a number of organisations, offering workshops in a range of formats: from a 90-minutes hands-on briefing for managers and supervisors looking to develop others, as well as half-, one- or two-day versions for people looking to enhance their own resilience and confidence.
Examples of workshops I currently offer in this area:
- Resilience - how to get back in the saddle - a 1/2, 1 or 2d workshop to develop awareness of helpful patterns and practice overcoming real obstacles
- Developing confidence and assertiveness - a 1/2 or 1d workshop - assembling a road map for personal confidence and confident communication
- Developing resilience in others - a 90 minute briefing for managers, leaders and supervisors
- Personal effectiveness for researchers - a 1/2 d session examining nerves, anxiety and stress management
Quotes from participants:
"A great course, thought-provoking and insightful, providing practical and empowering strategies that can be applied to challenges both within and outside of the workplace"
"Very useful, particularly because I could relate to the ideas of how to nurture resilience in myself, as well as others"
"A nice way to know yourself better and learn how to handle the problems around you"
